We are thrilled to announce that we will be leaving for Uganda IN ONE MONTH!!!

 

We are anxiously awaiting to be reunited with our Ugandan friends and all the wonderful students we met in 2019. Our trip during July 6 - 22 will continue to make progress on our original goals and add a few very exciting new initiatives!

 

Here's some of the awesome things we have planned:

• Service Project at the local community health center with Chahi Secondary School Interact Club & Kisoro Rotary Club

• Female Reproductive Health Presentation & reusable female hygiene kit distribution (hoping to raise money for 100 kits!)

• Home Visits to meet with families who received assistance in our Vocational Training Business support program.

• Dress Giveaway for 99 girls (partnership with "Dress a Girl Around the World")

• Gospel Presentation & Bible distribution (donated from the Sunrise Church Student Ministry)

• Community Meeting & Needs Assessment for Rotary International Global Grant

• Meet with engineer & architect for Vocational School building plans

• Attend the Kisoro Rotary Meeting as a guest speaker & network with local Rotarians

• Be a guest teacher at Chahi Secondary School

 

Did you notice that we are applying for a Rotary International Global Grant to build a Vocational School?!? Yes!!! We are applying for a $50,000 grant and another $25,000 building construction budget to start a vocational school. During our trip we will be conducting the required community need assessments and community meetings to start the process. We are also excited to meet with local Ugandan Rotary chapters to solidify our international partnership.
